As part of our Equality and Justice strand of Learn Together, we are exploring the democratic process so this Friday, 16th September, sees our School Committee elections taking place in class.
This year in Powerstown we will have:
- Student Council

If your child wishes to put themselves forward for nomination you can help them to make an election poster , work on a slogan, or write a speech at home. Your child’s class teacher will inform you of the election results via their class blog / Aladdin.
Yellow Flag Poster Competition
This year we have signed up to the Yellow Flag programme. This means that our school will be making extra efforts to ensure the school ius a place where everybody feels included, respected and valued. The Yellow Flag programme will help us to celebrate our differences, make everyone feel welcome and say no to racism.
We are currently recruiting our Diversity Committee. This will consist of teachers, parents, local community members, and children from our school. We are running a poster / slogan competition which is open to all classes. The best posters or slogans from around the school will be invited to join our Diversity Committee. Closing date for the competition is this Friday so ensure any entries are sent to school tomorrow or Friday morning!
