RE: Swimming Lessons
Fee: €32 per person
Dear Parents/Guardians,
In Term 2 we will have swimming lessons at the National Aquatic Swimming Pool for children in ALL classes:
Swimming is part of our school curriculum and should be taught to children in primary school. Swimming is also a very important life skill that children should develop for their own safety.
Last year we conducted a survey among the school community and it was democratically decided that all classes should attend swimming for 2019/2020 school year.
Swimming lessons will run for 6 weeks starting on the 24th & 26th February depending on which group your child is in.
Groups 1 & 2 (Monday Lessons) – Rowan, Redwood, Sycamore, Oak, Rose, Willow, Beech, Laurel classes. See dates below.
Swimming Lesson Dates: 24th February, 2nd, 9th, 23rd, 30th March, 20th April. (No swimming on 16th March due to school closure)
Groups 3 & 4 (Wednesday Lessons) – Ash, Chestnut, Alder, Hawthorn, Lime, Hazel, Birch, Kamilah, Holly classes. See dates below.
Swimming Lesson Dates: 26th February, 4th, 11th, 18th March, 22nd April & 29th April (gap in dates due to events on at the National Aquatic Centre and Spring Break).
Our Winter Fair Fundraising has reduced the cost of swimming lessons to €32 per person. This is just €5.33 per week.
E-payments can be made from today. Payments can be made in full or in instalments. However, all classes must be paid for in advance.
Payment can be made via the Aladdin App or by clicking the link below:
If you are having difficulties with payments, please speak to class teacher or Helena.
Swimming fees include the price of the bus, hire of the pool, and hire of qualified and garda vetted swimming tutors.
Please note we have adequate numbers of staff allocated to accompany each class to the pool for their lessons, parent/guardian support is not necessary.
If you wish to attend the pool on the day of lessons you must have completed garda vetting through the school.
If you have any questions or concerns, please speak to your child’s class teacher.
Kind regards,
