The past few weeks, 6th class have been completing a science programme, called the Building Blocks of Biology with the company STEAM in a box. STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Mathematics) is a creative, educational and fun way for children to learn about these subjects. It is hands-on learning. The children have learned about viruses, bacteria, plant and animal cells. We have also experimented with beans and the conditions beans need to grow. We’ve used lots of science skills such as questioning, experimenting, testing, synthesising and creating. We are feeling more prepared and excited for secondary school science now!
