From September children in Junior infants to second class will be following a new curriculum in English and Irish.
The new curriculum for English and Irish is for all children from junior infants to second class in all schools across the country.
The curriculum is changing so that it is up-to-date with the times we live in, with developments in language learning and the introduction of the Free Pre-school Years.
The Department of Education have requested that the school closes for one day to support staff training in this new curriculum.
Powerstown ETNS will be closed for pupils on Friday 17th of June to facilitate this training.
