Dear Parents/Guardians,
On Monday 27th of April, all the students and staff of Powerstown E.T.N.S. will be taking part in the National Spring Clean event.
National Spring Clean is Ireland’s most popular, well recognised and successful anti-litter initiative involving hundreds of schools from all over Ireland.
The campaign encourages every community member to actively participate and take responsibility for litter, by taking part in clean-ups in their own local area.
Each class is going to take part in their own local area cleanup. Any help from family members and friends would be greatly appreciated so please come along-younger siblings welcome too! *Plastic gloves, tabards and plastic bags will be provided.
Please note that this event is weather permitting so in the event of rain it will be rescheduled.
When: Monday April 27th 2015
Time: 10.30pm-12.00pm
Where: See table below
CLASS | LOCATION |
Chestnut, Ash & Oak Class | School Grounds: classrooms, basketball court, car park, school garden, Senior Yard |
Hazel and Maple Class | Park opposite graveyard (15-20 minute walk) |
Lime and Sycamore Class | Tyrrelstown Park (Park View Manor) (15-20 minute walk) |
Last year (2014), an estimated 550 tonnes of litter was collected of which 35% was recycled. In the current era of climate change the more we recycle, the more we reduce our carbon emissions, so by taking part in National Spring Clean we are making a difference!
