Dear Parents and Guardians,
As the springtime is upon us, it is time again to be aware of the pollinators in our environment. PETNS is a pollinator friendly school and we would like to extend that into the school community.
One simple thing we would like you to consider is letting the dandelions in your garden and locality grow. Many people view these as annoying weeds but dandelions are a superfood for bees when they emerge from hibernation. They provide the first big meal for many insects in the springtime and are vital for maintaining the health of our bee population.
We will be avoiding cutting our lawn here at PETNS in the coming months to allow pollinators to thrive and it would be great if you could do the same.
Thank you for being considerate of our local environment!
