As we are in Level 5 restrictions we are aware that many of our families live more than 5km from the school. We have had numerous requests for letters from parents.

We spoke with our community Gardai and have been reassured that if you meet a Garda Checkpoint, your school journey is deemed essential.

You may be asked where are you travelling to. You inform the Garda that you are dropping your child to school / collecting your child from school.

If asked, you can give the name of the school: Powerstown Educate Together, Tyrrelstown.

If unsure of school name / address you can always show the Garda the school Aladdin App or an email from the school on your phone.

We have been assured that no letter is required.

The Gardaí are here to support our school community through these challenging times and are just ensuring compliance to level 5 restrictions.
