Book Tokens:Your child has received a €1.50 book token to spend between now and 24 March. These tokens can be redeemed against books in our Setanta Book Club. All children ahve received the latest catalogue!

To celebrate book week we will be holding some events in school which we would appreciate your support in:

Multi lingual shared reading/read aloud sessions every morning 8.30-8.45 in Senior Infant Classroom. You are invited to come into senior infants to read to the class or small group a book of your choosing suitable for the age group. We would especially love to hear stories from other countries, cultures or languages. If you would like to do this please return the slip at the bottom of the page with your preferred day.

Children’s author Pauline Devine will visit the school on Tuesday 5th March to tell them about being an author and to read from her books.

Illustrator John Brennan will be coming into the school to share his experience of illustrating books and give us some quick tutorials.

Senior Infant Parent and child write a book project. Instead of our usual homework in Senior Infants, next week your child will have a write a book workbook to complete. These will be sent home in homework folders on Monday. Please work with your child to write and illustrate the pictures for your very own story book. This can be written in English or home languages and can be a story from your child’s imagination or a version of a familiar story. I would also encourage you to use read story books and talk about books with your child. Completed books will be collected on Friday 8th March to be displayed in the school and on school website.

Write A Book Project: Senior Class are very busy working on their class narrative story and individual narrative stories. We are hoping to compile all the senior class stories into a school book!

Fancy dress Friday! On Friday 8th March the children (and staff!) are invited to dress up as their favourite character from a story book. This could be a character from a fairy tale, story book, nursery rhyme or poem. Please do not purchase costumes for this, we encourage imaginative homemade costumes!
