Syria is the humanitarian crisis of our generation. The tragic pictures of Syrian child Aylan Kurdi published in many of today’s newspapers demonstrate the lengths that refugees are willing to go to in order to escape the dire conflict. The staff and student body at Powerstown ETNS believe it is important to do our part to support Syrian refugees.
Our upcoming PJ Day on Friday 25th of September will be a fundraiser for GOAL, who are working tirelessly inside Syria and with Syrian refugees in neighbouring Turkey. All children, staff, parents and school community are asked to contribute €2 each to the collection on Friday 25th and wear their PJs to school.
