Powerstown Educate Together N.S
are running a clothing collection in conjunction with Bag2School.
By getting involved in our Bag2School collection you have an opportunity to sort through your cupboards and wardrobes and donate any unwanted textiles in the bag provided or in a regular black refuse sack if you need more. This can include adult and children’s clothes, shoes (tied together please), hats, belts, bags and teddies (no duvets, bedding, pillows, curtains and towels). The clothes have to be of good quality for reuse in Africa, Asia and Eastern Europe. In addition it will raise awareness amongst the children of the benefits of recycling and reuse.
Our school funds will receive a fantastic 55c per kilo / €550 per tonne which will be a great boost for our fundraising. Not only are we getting a great price, but the school with the biggest collection by the end of the year, will win an iPad mini to be raffled off within the school, so let’s get collecting!!
The LauraLynn House will also receive an additional 10% from Bag2School. The Lauralynn House is the only Children’s Hospice in Ireland.
Please try to fill as many bags as you can, don’t forget to ask grandparents, friends and neighbours to have a sort out as well!
Bag2School will be collecting at 9am on Wednesday 6th May 2015. Please return your bag (or bags!) to us from Monday 20th April and help us have a really good collection! The drop off point for bags is the second last room on the left upstairs, taking the stairs beside the office. Signs will be posted on the walls and doors to assist you.
Many thanks indeed for helping us with this unique fundraising opportunity.
