We are so excited to be celebrating Book Week next week! We have lots of fun activities and events planned and we would love you to be part of the fun!
Shared Reading Day: Parents are invited into our school during the morning of Tuesday 5th March from 09:00 am – 10:00am to read a book to their child’s class. Home languages are greatly encouraged! Please contact your child’s class teacher if you are interested in coming in.
Book Fair: The book Fair is coming to our school from March 6th – 11th. You can browse the online catalogue here – https://bookfairs.scholastic.ie/travelling-books/the-books
Children can bring in EXACT change to purchase a book during scheduled times during the school day or parents can pre-pay for books online at the following link: https://bookfairs.scholastic.ie/pay/1303964 We can also accept card payments.
Parents are also welcome to visit the fair daily during the times of 1:10pm – 1:40pm and 2:10 – 2:40pm. A significant percentage of sales is allocated to the school to purchase new books for our whole school library, every purchase is much appreciated.
Dress up as your favourite book character for World Book Day – Thursday 7th March. Homemade costumes are encouraged!
Book Week Table Quiz for 3rd – 6th Class on Friday!
BookFace Competition! Send your entries to bookweek@powerstownet.com by Friday 8th of March at 12pm. Winners announced Monday 11th March.
We will have spot prizes from the Book Fair for enthusiasm, creativity and great efforts throughout Book Week! Happy reading!
