What a proud day for our school. This week our girls and boys 5th and 6th class GAA teams were playing their final games as part of the Tyrrelstown cup. The girls were playing in the 3rd place Shield Final against St Lukes. They played an excellent first half defending, hassling and fighting for the win. We were so proud of how much their skills developed over the 8 weeks of playing. Unfortunately St Luke’s came out on top in the end but we played some of our best football of the tournament!

The boys were playing against our neighbours Gaelscoil an Chuilin in the 1st place Cup final. They were a strong side who we matched for skill, power and heart throughout. Unfortunately they won by a very small margin in a very tight game where it could have gone either way. We were delighted and proud to finish 2nd place out of all the Tyrrelstown schools, especially when it was many of our teams first time playing GAA. Go Powerstown!!
