Dear Parents,
Last Thursday we had our second garden club.
We cleared out the strawberry beds in our Geodome of last year’s foliage and we took out all the seedlings to new pots for roots establishment.
While turning the soil we have found some visitors not necessary invited- Weevils. This little insect is loving strawberry plants and by munching on the roots its killing the plant. We have removed as much larva as we could and by doing it we have reduced the population for sure.
Our tutor Martina is sharing the knowledge of garden growing and using the space we have at our school in the best possible way.
If you think you could join us on ANY Thursday in the next 14 weeks,no matter for how little time, please pop in THIS Thursday (10th of February) between 9.30am and 12 to see what we do and fill in some forms. Club cannot continue if we won’t have the 8 registered parents. We could really use some help in the school garden and it is for the benefit of all the children and school. With spring coming, kids will be using the outside space more often. Would it be lovely to have a blooming garden for them to enjoy? Sensory garden is on the top of our list, please help us to create it!
We hope to see you this Thursday for some weeding and beds preparing for new planting.
