World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD) is a very special day, officially observed by the United Nations since 2012 and celebrated as a global awareness day annually on the 21st March. This year, Powerstown’s PTA would like our school community to help us raise awareness of this special celebration and raise much needed funds for Down Syndrome Dublin- together we can change perceptions and enable people with Down syndrome to speak up, be heard and be respected as valued members of society. We are asking all our community to wear colourful, fun socks on the 21st March – the crazier the better – and let’s get people talking! We are asking for a €2 donation to go towards Down Syndrome Dublin. Money raised helps support families seek access to vital services such as speech and language, occupational therapy and classes to support learning and development.Let’s come together on this fun school day and support a worthy cause as a community!
